I capture my infrared images on a second hand Sony Alpha 7 camera that was converted to infrared with the fitting of a 720 nm filter over the sensor.
Careful attention needs to be given to the histogram to control exposure, often needing a degree of over-exposure in comparison with full spectrum camera sensors.
‘Hot spots’ can be a problem although this varies between lenses and apertures used and is not usually a problem to remove in processing.
I have found that the tonal range on such images to be very impressive, allowing a great deal of flexibility in post processing.
